Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club met Aug. 17 at the Your Choice Restaurant in Wayland. There were eight members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, followed by the invocation by Lion Roger Roth.

Secretary Bill Grimm gave the last meeting’s minutes and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report, after the meal. Both were approved unanimously by the members.

President Braden Blake informed the members that the deadline for Dozen Rose orders is Sept. 11, and the delivery to the recipients will be on Saturday, Sept. 18.

President Braden Blake informed the members that the next flag event will be on Labor Day, Sept. 6. There are over 112 participants in the American Flag Program.

New Business:

Past District Governor Nancy Slack will be the guest speaker at the September meeting on Iowa Lions Clubs Foundation and International Lions Clubs Foundation. PDG Nancy Slack will also present awards for Lions activities to recipients.

The September meeting will include discussion and presentation of contributions to various activities from the Wayland Lions Club budget.
