Wayland Lions Club meets

The Wayland Lions Club held their May 17, 2022 meeting at the “Your Choice Restaurant.” There were 11 in attendance.

Lion Brian Pattyson called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Invocation was performed by Secretary Bill Grimm, blessing the meeting and meal.

Secretary Bill Grimm gave the minutes from the last meeting and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer’s Report. Both were accepted unanimously.

The meeting resumed after the meal.

May Old Business Discussion:

Ten New American Flags were put in the inventory to fulfill subscriptions for 120 participants. 90 subscriptions for the Wayland Lions Club American Flag Program have been received. There are now 30 subscriptions available to Fly the American Flag for 5 Holidays, starting with Memorial Day on May 30, 2022.

Lion Stan Meyer confirmed that the next Blood Drive, assisted by the Wayland Lions Club, would be on Thursday, June 2nd from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Wayland Community Center. May New Business:

Lilly Clark was awarded both of the Wayland Lions Club Scholarships for a total of $1,000 @ Awards Night, WACO High School, May 17, 2022.

Lion Marianne Pattyson updated the Lions on the proposed Smoke Alarm Program being considered by the Wayland Lions Club. Marianne will be contacting companies regarding application for their participation.

Lion Brian Pattyson updated members on “The Iowa Lion” articles from the May Publication. Members agreed that review of the Iowa Lion Publication was beneficial to members and should be continued.

Members meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

Meetings start at 6:30 PM & adjourn around 7:45 to 8:00 PM.
