Wayland Lions Club participates in ‘Greet & Treat’

The Wayland Lions Club met Oct. 19 at the Your Choice Restaurant. There were 11 members present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Braden Blake, followed by the Invocation by Lion Robert Meyer. Secretary Bill Grimm gave the last meetings minutes and Treasurer Terry Kaufman gave the Treasurer's Report, after the meal. Both were approved unanimously by the members.
Wayland Lions Club American Flag Program Update: President Braden Blake informed the members that the next Flag event will be on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2021. There are now 125 participants in the American Flag Program.
Halloween Trick or Treat: There were approximately 23 businesses that participated in the “Greet & Treat” Halloween event, setting up displays around the square, starting near Wayland Town Hall. Wayland Lions Club participated in the event.
New Business: Lion Brian Pattyson discussed Lions Clubs International Foundation & Iowa Lions Club Foundation, regarding Melvin Jones & Warren Coleman awards for service by the members. November meeting plan is to nominate members to receive these reward plaques for their service to the Wayland Communities.
