The Wayland Lions Club met Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Wayland Community Center.
President Tim Egli called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Meyer gave the invocation, then the meeting was adjourned for a delicious meal catered by Alice Hostetler.

Stan Meyer announced that Jay Meyer has scheduled the annual KidSight program at Crawfordsville Elementary School for 9 a.m. Monday, March 9. The KidSight program combats vision problems through early detection of abnormalities discovered through photography with a special camera. When a potential abnormality is detected, the student will have his or her physician examine using the film to determining whether a corrective procedure is required.
Bob Meyer scheduled the March 17 Wayland Lions Club meeting to start with a 6:15 p.m. tour of Kirkwood Community College in Washington. After the tour, the Wayland Lions will depart for Washington's Pizza Ranch for a meal and an official meeting.

Brian Pattyson reminded the attending 13 Wayland Lions that the Iowa Lions was looking for candidates to attend Great Plains Lions Leadership Institute to be held July 24-26 at Jamestown University, in North Dakota. The course provides emerging Lion leaders with modules on communication skills, team building, delegation, management of change, conflict management, project management, diversity, time management, motivation, goal setting/action plans and leading effective meetings.
The Iowa Lions District 9SE Convention will be held on April 10-11, in Oskaloosa. Wayland Lions were encouraged to attend and take advantage of several informative clinics and seminars.
The formal meeting was adjourned and Tyler Rees, CCA, gave a PowerPoint presentation on "Precision Agriculture Management." Tyler is owner/director of Harvest-Max Partners located at 2879 Wayland Road, Washington.
The Wayland Lions Club members in attendance thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's presentation as evidenced by the interest shown and questions regarding their business plan using computer technology.
