Many organizations have ?vacation? during January and February making for less local news. This Monday, Jan. 6, the news is the polar air making for some very cold temperatures for all to deal with. All area schools were closed due to the extreme cold.
The Olds Lions will host its annual Family Fun Night Soup Supper the evening of Jan. 14, at the Swedesburg Parish Hall. A variety of soups and pie will be offered along with usual relishes. Board games and cards will be offered for entertainment and a drawing for door prizes will be held at 7 p.m. The evening is yours to enjoy for a free-will offering.
The children of Elizabeth Troutman of Wayland would like to help Liz celebrate her 80th birthday on Jan. 16 with a card shower. Cards will reach her at PO Box 2, Wayland, IA 52654-0002.
