UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
Instead of having a July 9, 2024 meeting a brief United Church Women meeting was held during the Dorcas sewing lunch time on June 24, 2024. Seven women were present including Donna Fletcher, Debbie Lowe, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson, Carol Steele and Linda Wiltfang.
Business discussed:
Cleaning the pantry/storage room and kitchen, any items no longer being used or needed can be donated to the rummage sale. Perhaps three or four can complete this task.
Two quilts will be donated to the fundraising event for Joey Hochstetler on July 5 and 6.
It was decided that the UCW will purchase and store paper funeral supplies in the sewing room. UCW is responsible for paying for funeral dinner expenses. All other kitchen and paper supplies will be paid out of the UCC general fund and kept in the storage room. The UCW Local Activities committee will continue to manage all supplies needed.
The Fall Rummage Sale will be August 28, 29, 30 and 31. The committee is Cathy Williams and Billie Jo Rose.
There will be no July 9, 2024 UCW meeting. The nominating committee (Margaret, Marlene and Linda) will need to have a slate of officers to elect at the September 10th meeting.
A brief meeting following a church service can be held for any business needing attention before September. Let Debbie know if anything needs to be discussed.
Bills to be paid can be given to Pat.
Debbie will have a notice of the cancellation of the July 9 meeting in the bulletin and newsletter.
