The West Chester United Methodist Women met at the church on March 11, 2015, for a 9 a.m. sewing day. Six members sewed and cut 40 chest napkins for area nursing homes. Beverly Zehr, hostess, served rolls at the coffee break. After prayer, a sack lunch was enjoyed.
Sharon Hahn, president, conducted a short business meeting. The treasurer?s report was given. Sharon reminded the unit of the Southeast District Day Apart, Saturday, April 11, at the First Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant. Guest speaker will be Michael Zahs.
Sharon opened with a devotional, God?s Grace by Joyce Haase of Sigourney. She focused on a common pencil that needs to be sharpened to use. We need something in our life to sharpen us and keep us sharpened. Good thoughts!
Pat Dusenbery, Education and Interpretation chairman, reported on an e-mail she received that had good thoughts for everyone to remember.
The chest napkins will be delivered to McCreedy Home and Brownlee at the United Presbyterian Home.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m., April 8 at the church. Doris Fisher will present the Pledge Service and Beverly Zehr will have the Prayer and Self-Denial Service. Program will be sharing book reviews. Dolly Combs will be hostess.
