The West Chester United Methodist Women met at the church April 8, 2015, with seven members attending. President Sharon Hahn opened the meeting by reading Matthew 5:6. Sharon also read an article from The Upper Room on prayer beads. The secretary read the minutes of the March meeting, which were approved. The treasurer?s report was given.
Forty-four chest napkins were made at the March meeting and delivered to area nursing homes. Pat Dusenbery, Education and Interpretation chairman, read from Mark 16:1-8. Pat reported three missionaries had birthdays this month, two from the Ivory Coast in Africa, and one from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Sharon reported that 64 people had been served at the Bob Stout funeral dinner. Beverly Zehr presented the Prayer and Self-Denial program, and Doris Fisher presented the Pledge Service. Both programs stressed the importance of being a welcoming church. For the program, the group reported on some of the books that they read from the reading list ? some very interesting books. Dolly Combs served refreshments to close the meeting.
The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., May 13 at the church, with Marlene Janssen giving the program on ?Immigration? (Justice for Our Neighbors).
