WFAN sets conference Jan. 20-21
The Women, Food and Agriculture Network?s annual conference is set Jan. 20-21 in Des Moines.

The Women, Food and Agriculture Network?s annual conference is set Jan. 20-21 in Des Moines.
?Women Transforming the Landscape? is the theme for the 2012 conference.
Debra Eschmeyer, organic farmer and founder of FoodCorps, will give the keynote address Jan. 21.
Conference highlights include a progressive tasting tour of three of Des Moines? restaurants, showcasing locally sourced ingredients from 4-7 p.m. Jan. 20. Space is limited. A fee is charged. Call 515-201-9405 to register.
Highlights also include a ?Wine, Women and Song? at Jasper Winery from 7-9:30 p.m. Jan. 20. The public is invited to join WFAN members at a wine and chocolate fundraising reception at this award-winning, woman-owned winery. Admission is charged.
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 21, events will include a panel of women changing the landscape of the food system, a local-foods lunch, and afternoon workshops for farmers, advocates and women landowners.
