What will a scholarship do for me?
Nov. 30, 2021 2:11 pm
Editor’s note: This is part two of a three-part series on scholarships courtesy of the Greater Jefferson County Foundation.
Not all scholarships are for four-year colleges or universities. That might have been the case in the past, but the opportunities for “trade school” scholarships are growing.
The Greater Jefferson County Foundation has new scholarships available that focus on CAD, Machine Shop/Metal Working or Welding that target Southeast Iowa Community Colleges such as IHCC, Kirkwood or SECC. Another is an open scholarship for any trade school, and this would envelope more opportunities such as Auto or Diesel Tech, etc.
Online application for these scholarships is available on the foundation’s website at www.gjcfscholarships.org, or call 641-472-0758 for more information.
There will be more information regarding the scholarship opportunities in the Fairfield/Jefferson County area in the weeks to come.
