Whitakers to celebrate 50 years of marriage
Les and Kay Whitaker of Pleasant Plain will be celebrating 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Brighton Community Building in Brighton.
They were married Jan. 25, 1964, at the Church of God in Brighton. Their daughter Patty Harrison, son-in-law Kirk and grandson live in Colorado. Their son Rob Whitaker, daughter-in-law Shannon, and three grandchildren live in Oregon.

Les and Kay Whitaker of Pleasant Plain will be celebrating 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Brighton Community Building in Brighton.
They were married Jan. 25, 1964, at the Church of God in Brighton. Their daughter Patty Harrison, son-in-law Kirk and grandson live in Colorado. Their son Rob Whitaker, daughter-in-law Shannon, and three grandchildren live in Oregon.
Les and Kay Whitaker worked together at Northrup King for 40 and 38 years respectively. The couple retired in June 2006. Music has been a large part of their lives, with children and grandchildren playing in churches.
The couple enjoys trips to Branson, Mo., and visting family.
