On Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 members of the White Cloud Club traveled together to Kalona for their Annual Club Tour. Pat Miller organized the tour with other members helping make final plans of where to stop in Kalona and nearby destinations.
First stop in downtown Kalona was at the Coffee House where each person leisurely enjoyed their favorite hot beverage and samples of delicious baked goods. From there they drove out to the annex where they enjoyed shopping. Knowing the Golden Delight Bakery was just around the corner, it became their next stop. Each person again purchased a choice of treats or baked goods. A stop at Stringtown included seeing an array of colorful fall mums displayed and available for purchase.
Back in Kalona, the group stopped for lunch at Los Amigos Taqueria restaurant. Everyone enjoyed their delicious choices. A stroll through three antique shops in downtown Kalona included the Pink Petunia.
Before heading home, a stop at Yotty's Ice Cream shop was a great place to relax and wrap up a fun day.
Those attending were Jolene Colthurst, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller and Margaret Patterson.
The October meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Washington Pizza Ranch. That meeting will be highlighted by revealing Mystery Sisters with a gift exchange.
One birthday gift was presented for a September birthday. Notes were written to those who could not attend due to health issues.
The day ended with thanking Pat Miller for being hostess.
Bible School Report
The theme of the Vacation Bible School held this year at the United Church of Crawfordsville for both Crawfordsville and Ainsworth children was Carnival.
Carman Davis was the organizer and had lots of help from Brittany Davis, Morgan Meyer (Food), Emily Boylan (Music), Pastor Jason and many others. They all did an excellent job and were much appreciated by everyone. Children from preschool through 6th grade attended. Around 39 were in attendance.
The kids learned Bible stories and memorized Bible verses. While having lots of fun they learned stories of David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lions Den and Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors. They also learned many songs which they shared with the congregation, the Sunday following. The last day of Bible School families were invited to come share a meal with the children and see what all they had done.
There were many Dads, Youth and others who also helped out. The children were given supper each day and food and snacks were donated by so many generous people, as well as most of the materials used. Thank you to everyone for your part in making this a very successful and enjoyable Bible School.
