White Cloud Club meets in Washington

The White Cloud Club met Monday, November 4, 2024, instead of the important Election Day on Tuesday, at the Pizza Ranch in Washington, with Pauline Richardson being hostess. Eight members were present.
Following lunch, President Betty Lintz opened the meeting with items of suggestions to make members "have music" in their lives.
Roll call was answered with a Halloween Costume. Many answered with either costumes they had worn or made.
Pat Miller read the minutes from the previous meeting and she also gave the treasurer's report.
Betty then reviewed the books for the new year and everyone thanked her for making the books.
Old Business: The September club tour was discussed. There were no Mystery Sister gifts.
New Business: The December meeting will be held at the home of Jolene Colthurst in Washington. Each member is asked to bring two dozen treats to share with other members, as well as a $5.00 gift to exchange that will add to the festivities of the Christmas meeting.
Members attending were Carrie Coble, Jolene Colthurst, Diane Johnston, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson and Virginia Sands.
CRAWFORDSVILLE LIONS CLUB
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, November 11, 2024 for their dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 12 members present.
President Scott Davis opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Fletcher offered prayer.
The meeting reconvened following the delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler. Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the October 28 meeting and they were approved as read. Treasurer Finke gave his report.
Old Business: A local electrician has been contacted regarding putting up City Christmas lights and that will be done Saturday, November 30th at 9 a.m. Further discussion was held about the Christmas dinner out and it was decided to go to Kalona once again.
Because of school program conflicts the group voted to go on Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. The menu of Fried Chicken and Salisbury Steak and Cherry and Coconut Cream pie was chosen.
New Business: The Impact Iowa Blood drive sponsored by our club will be held Monday, December 2, 1:30-6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville, 105 North Chestnut St., Crawfordsville. Anyone wishing to donate may contact Billie Jo Rose at 319-330-9955 or David Jewell at 319-931-2044.
A banner patch had been received from the LCIF recognizing our club for their support of Lions Clubs International for 2023-2024. This organization supports critical humanitarian needs in 208 countries and geographic areas around the world. The local club, along with thousands around the world, may help provide a vaccination to a child in the developing world or give food or shelter to the homeless following a disaster.
It was decided the annual Christmas Drawing will be held Saturday, December 14 at the Fire Station. A 4-H Bake Sale will start off the event at 12 noon, with Santa arriving at 12:30 and the Drawing at 1 p.m. Contact has been made regarding the printing of the cards that will be mailed out to area residents.
The Treasurer announced it was time to make our donations to LCIF and the Iowa Lions Foundation. This was approved.
As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned.
