White Cloud Club meets in Winfield

The White Cloud Club members and guests enjoyed dinner out Tuesday evening, March 1, 2022 at El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant in Winfield for their annual Date Night.

Those attending were Andy and Jolene Colthurst, Gene and Betty Lintz, Gene and Pat Miller and Virginia Sands.

Margaret Patterson made the arrangements. The next meeting will be April 5, 2022 for lunch at the Pizza Ranch in Washington at 11:30 a.m. with Joyce Huff as hostess.

United Church Women

The United Church Women met Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall with seven ladies present.

President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and The Opening Creed was read together.

Cathy Williams gave the meditation using the Upper Room and an article entitled, " My Unique Role"

Minutes of the December 14, 2021 meeting were accepted as read by Billie Jo Rose.

Pat Miller gave the treasurer's report and it will be filled for audit.

Thank you notes were read from various organizations the group supports and also from the Audrey Finke family.

A brief report on some organizing in the kitchen area.

Dorcas:

Donna reported that one baby quilt had been given, eight lap robes to Aspire and one donated to an upcoming Lions Club project. She also reported that some electrical work will be done in the sewing room.

Cards, Flowers and Gifts:

The usual cards, along with the cards that had been sent to those in service at Christmas time.

Study & Devotions/Mission Outreach:

The Least Coin Offering was taken and the Prayer of the Least Coin was read together, as well as the Call to Prayer and Self Denial Offering and Birthday Offering were taken.

New Business:

Spring Rummage Sale: Dates and times are: Thursday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to noon. Setup will be Tuesday, April 26 at 8 a.m. Items may be brought to the church after Tuesday, April 12 and may be put in the northwest room.

Following a motion to adjourn the Closing Creed was read in unison.

Deb thanked Donna for hostessing and she closed with "A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love."

Visitors in the home of Wayne and Debbie Lowe over the weekend and to help Wayne celebrate his March 4th birthday were Karen and Lance Brisky and Jordan of Lodi, WI.; Kaelyn Brisky and Sam Burke of St. Paul, MN.; Adrian Brisky and Grace Hurst of River Falls, WI.; and Renee Lowe of Cheyenne, WY.
