William ?Bill? James Malcom, 90, died on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Henry County Health Center.
There will be no funeral service, but visitation will be at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 noon with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Malcom was born on Jan. 18, 1927, in Davenport, the son of Frend (?Spider?) and Marjorie Menefee Malcom. He graduated from Wapello High School in 1944 and served in World War II in the Army Air Corps for four years. On March 8, 1947, he married Rosemary Lange, in New London.
He was a typesetter at the Mt. Pleasant News for 39 years.
He enjoyed golfing, wintering in Arizona, Florida, and Texas, and fishing.
Malcom is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his son, Thomas, of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; one brother, John (Dorothy) Malcom, of Wapello; and three sisters, Marjorie Strawhacker, of Mediapois, Alice (Lee) Glawe, of New Berlin, Wisc., and Marilee Simmons, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his three sisters, Josephine (Jack) Glattfelder, Dorothy (Roger) Gerst, and Judy (Ernest) Gerst.
