Winfield Historical Society to hold World War I program open to public
The Winfield Historical Society and Museum is sponsoring a World War I program on Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m., in the old VFW building, in Winfield.
This is an unusual program in that participants will hear a tape of Herb Butler, a soldier who was in the Army and walked across France, telling about his experience. The group will also be commemorating 100 years of that Great War.

Judy Rawson, Butler?s granddaughter, will present the program and has many items to share. Also on display, will be pictures and postcards sent to Butler?s wife, Verca, who worked at the State Hospital, in Mt. Pleasant, in 1918.
The public is invited and refreshments will be served while listening to music that was popular during that time.
Those who have served in the armed forces and those that love history are especially invited to attend this program.
