Southeast Iowa Union offers audio versions of articles using Instaread. Some words may be mispronounced.
Are you crafty? If you aren’t, no worries, Linda Johnson will be at the Winfield library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 8 to guide you through a craft to take home with you. At this session Linda will show you how to make a brick look like a book. You don’t have to be an artist to accomplish this. Just bring your enthusiasm and imagination, Linda will supply everything else you will need.
The craft sessions are being held on the first Thursday of the month at 2 p.m. at the Winfield Library unless otherwise notified. This week is an exception due to a conflict. Check with Jacque if you have questions about the date of the next secession.
Everyone is welcome to join the group. There is no charge for the lessons. Occasionally, crafters are asked to bring a specific item they might have to purchase if they don’t have one.
The craft sessions are just one of many things the library has to offer. Even if you aren’t a reader, maybe you would like to be a listener. The library has a wide selection of audio books. Would you prefer to both see and hear, then check out one of the many movies available for your entertainment. Take one home, pop some corn and enjoy a movie night.
Be sure to sign your youngster up for the summer reading program that will be offered when school is out. More information will be available soon. Again, ask Jacque if you have questions concerning the reading program.
Winfield is fortunate to have a library and staff that can offer so many options for entertainment and information. Check it out!
