Woman gets probation for theft from Iowa college
CLINTON (AP) ? A former Ashford University employee has been given probation for stealing more than $62,000 from the school in northeast Iowa.
Stacy Powers, of Camanche, was given five years of probation and ordered to pay back the stolen money. She also must perform 500 hours of community service.
The Quad-City Times reports the 28-year-old Powers pleaded guilty last month to one count of first-degree theft.

The Quad-City Times reports the 28-year-old Powers pleaded guilty last month to one count of first-degree theft.
Powers was the student development and activities coordinator between August 2008 and April 2012. She was accused of making unauthorized withdrawals from the student government account and making unauthorized purchases with a debit card.
