The date has been set for the first Women in Agriculture Conference to be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds on March 25, 2017, at 8:30 a.m.
The event is being hosted by Washington County Extension and Outreach, along with the Washington Women in Agriculture Advisory Board. The conference is geared towards giving women of all ages the tools to cultivate, plant, and grow in their chosen agricultural field.
Jolene Brown will be the keynote speaker. Brown is a farmer, author and professional speaker from West Branch.
Dr. Wendy Wintersteen, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University, will be joining conference attendees for lunch to share her personal experiences of being a woman in agriculture.
Lunch will be provided. The conference will conclude at around 3 p.m.
