World of Orchids Program Jan. 27

The Washington County Master Gardeners are pleased to bring Nile Dusdieker, a certified American Society Judge for the Chicago Judging Center of orchid growers, to Washington County for a program.

Dusdieker?s presentation is titled ?The World of Orchids? and will be given at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 27, at the Washington County Extension Office. It is open to the public.

Dusdieker will define an orchid as well as discuss several common orchids, their culture and pests to the plant. He has been growing orchids for over 25 years, annually raising 900 orchids in his greenhouse which he transplants around his pergola in the summer. He has had several articles published in Orchids magazine and has made a recent webinar for American Orchid Society on native Australian Orchids.

The Master Gardeners invite the public to join them for what promises to be a wonderful presentation on orchids.
