ConcertIA is an exciting new musical venture for Iowa artists. Founded as a chamber orchestra, ConcertIA will showcase Iowans in the performing arts. Orchestral musicians, singers, actors and dancers will produce symphony concerts, chamber music recitals, children's shows, master classes and opera. ConcertIA's goal is to create opportunities for Iowa's many young artists and professionals who were educated in Iowa and are searching for professional experience within the state and bring this uplifting venture to Iowa communities.
Heather Youngquist has recently starred as Yum-Yum in Cedar Rapids Opera production of The Mikado, Chicago's Main Street Opera as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and in October, will sing in the American debut of Franco Faccio's opera Ameleto to be presented for the first time since 1871 by Albuquerque-based Opera Southwest.
?An Evening of Opera? includes arias and ensembles from Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Strauss and many other composers.
