AMES ? Staff awards were presented at the 2016 Youth Fest, the Iowa 4-H staff annual statewide professional development meeting in Ames. Staff members were recognized for their accomplishments, impact on the program and their community, and embodiment of the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development mission in their delivery of programs and work efforts, based on various levels of years of service.
?This is the second year for this statewide staff recognition opportunity and it?s evident that staff members are making a difference in their local communities,? said John-Paul Chaisson-Cárdenas, state 4-H program leader.
The awards were presented in November. Amy Green, Washington County Extension and Outreach County Youth Coordinator, was part of one of those teams receiving an award.
The Clover University Regional STEM Camps were facilitated by county youth outreach educators Camie Marshek and Michele Sieren, and county youth coordinators Mary Veatch and Amy Green for ISU Extension and Outreach?s Region 15 (Iowa, Johnson, Keokuk and Washington counties). They shared curriculum, non-consumable resources, planning duties and expenses to provide the same four camps in each county over a three or four-week period. One week was dedicated to each age group, maximizing efficiency in preparation and purchasing materials.
