Zane and Zoe Fisher compete at state fair poultry show
Zane and Zoe Fisher are completing their senior year as members of the Mid-Prairie FFA, and both of them recently participated in the Iowa State Fair FFA Poultry Show on Aug. 10.
Zane and Zoe earned a purple banner for the FFA herding award as a chapter. This is from an overall score of how well members of the chapter placed with poultry as a whole group. Zane won champion-all other breeds, while Zoe won champion pen of 2 meat turkeys and champion continental breeding chicken with her White Polish hen.
Zoe won champion pen of 2 meat turkeys and overall reserve grand champion commercial pen with the same turkeys. Winning reserve grand champion allowed Zoe to walk in the FFA Parade of Champions held on Saturday, Aug 13.
Zane won champion breeding chicken-all other breeds with his Sumatra Rooster.
Zane and Zoe also worked as FFA grandstand ushers for the entire state fair.
