OTTUMWA ? Christmas-themed zombie movie ?A Cadaver Christmas? will be showing at 7 p.m. Friday at Insane?s Asylum Horror Emporium, 116 N. Green St., Ottumwa.
A cross between ?It?s a Wonderful Life? and ?Night of the Living Dead,? ?A Cadaver Christmas? tells the story of an unlikely band of heroes charged with the task of saving the world from an army of living corpses that are quickly recruiting new members. The dead have been given the gift of life this Christmas, and it is up to a university janitor to take it back.
The horror-comedy was filmed in the Quad Cities and surrounding area. It has screened at film festivals across the country and is currently seeking distribution. Producer Daniel Rairdin-Hale and director Joe Zerull completed the film for a budget of only $7,000.
?A Cadaver Christmas? has a run time of 84 minutes and is rated R.
After the screening, a discussion with the director will be held. Prizes associated with the film will be given away.
