Fire crews from Mt. Pleasant and Wayland spent much of Wednesday afternoon and into the early evening battling a blaze at 2096 White Oak Road, in rural Mt. Pleasant. The fire originated in the basement, due to a running clothes dryer, and caused extensive damage to the interior of the home.
Henry County Sheriff?s deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident Aug. 25, in a private driveway in the 2900 grid of Quaker Ave.Involved in the collision were Olivia Birch, of New London, driving a Jeep Patriot, and Jairin Swailes, of New London, driving a Ford Focus.Both drivers were treated for possible injuries at the scene.
