It is the day when the shovels are laid down, the front door of the office is closed and family and friends gather to celebrate not only the birth of the Christ child but also the joy of being together again. Seldom do you find December street paving in Iowa, but that is exactly what happened Thursday in Mt. Pleasant as crews from Shipley Contracting had the paving crew mobilized to finish paving North Iris Avenue to the railroad tracks parallel to East Monroe Street.
