Mt. Pleasant?s Public Works Department received its new street sweeper recently and immediately put it to use. The sweeper is shown cleaning a street in the central business district.

?Blankets? are placed in the road bed remaining to be paved yet this year on North Iris Avenue. Construction crews are hoping for a few days of moderate temperatures so the street can be paved. The remainder of the project (south from the railroad tracks to Washington Street) will be done next spring. Wet summer weather prevented the project from being finished this year.
