A two-vehicle accident near New London Thursday afternoon caused extensive damage to these two vehicles. Both were considered a total loss. Ellie Cusic of Omaha, Neb., was the driver of the Dodge Neon, pictured. Shirley Simmons of Admire, Kan., was the driver of the pickup. Cusic was transported to the Henry County Health Center. The accident occurred at the intersecitoin of 260th Street and U.S. Highway 34.

A considerable amount of concrete already has been poured on the Grand Avenue reconstruction project. Now, construction workers are reconstructing the Baker Street-Grand Avenue intersections, one of three intersections along the project. Although wet weather has interrupted construction the last several weeks, the project is still ahead of schedule, according to Warner Engineering.
