A severed natural gas line gave employees of the Mt. Pleasant News an unexpected morning break today. Crews replacing the sanitary sewer line in the alley struck a gas line at approximately 9:15 a.m. Not only was the News building evacuated but adjacent buildings and apartments as well. The evacuation lasted about 45 minutes.
