You know summer is approaching when water begins flowing from the Central Park fountain. However, prior to that, some maintenance is required. Jesse Schadt, a Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department employee, cleans the fountain Thursday. Water may be flowing by the time you read this as the fountain was expected to be turned on today.

Three vehicles sustained a combined $16,700 in damages Tuesday in an accident near New London.
