Fairfield Community School District Board of Directors will have a meeting at 5:30 p.m. today in room 102 at Fairfield Middle School to gather input on closing Lincoln Elementary School and moving fifth grade classes to FMS.
The meeting is an opportunity for parents, school personnel and community members to voice concerns.
FMS principal Mike Dailey will show those in attendance where the fifth grade classrooms would be, and then attendees will divide into small groups with individual board members to state their concerns. After about 45 minutes, the small groups will gather, and each board member will state what they heard. Participants will have the opportunity to clarify or correct what the board members say.
?There is a middle school play scheduled for 7 p.m., and this should allow people to attend both if they so desire ,? said superintendent Don Achelpohl. The play, ?The Secret School,? also is set for 7 p.m. Friday in the FMS cafetorium.
After the two public input meetings, ? the first was held Feb. 13 ? the board plans to discuss the issue at a work session Monday.
The board, if the members feel they have enough information, plans to make a decision during its regular monthly meeting March 8.
