One of the features is the use of CO2 and glycol as refrigerant, which project manager Jeff Scandrett explained is newer technology in which Hy-Vee is taking the lead using it in their newly constructed stores. CO2 and glycol are more environmentally friendly than the frequently used Freon. Loebsack and local dignitaries toured the store this morning.
