14 cars broken into last week, suspect charged in burglaries

A Mt. Pleasant teen has been charged with burglary after a string of vehicles were broken into.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to 14 reports of cars that had been broken into and items missing between Sept. 10 and Sept. 14.
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, a search was executed at 603 N. Collins Circle in Mt. Pleasant and numerous items from several of those burglaries were located. A 16-year-old juvenile will be charged with several burglary crimes.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by several people who observed suspicious behavior and reported it to the police.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
