WASHINGTON — FFA members kicked off the 2023 Land Lab program in Washington earlier this month, as members anhydroused the ground and began meetings.
“We have planned our meetings, created new rules, and created new organization techniques,” a Facebook post from Washington FFA said. “The group is off to a great start!”
The group has five members this year: Tess Berdo, Blake Evans, Presley Hora, Blake Sheetz, and Jade Sheetz.
Land Lab members presented their work to the city of Washington — which provides much of the ground for the ag project — at a council meeting Tuesday night. Students said they were happy to have the experience.
“It gave us the chance to learn how to operate the planter and see how it works,” one presenter said. “We actually got that hands-on experience.”
