290th street closes between Coppock, Wayland for month

Washington County has closed 290th Street to through traffic between Coppock Road and Wayland Road for culvert replacements. The project began Thursday and consists of replacing two pipe culverts approximately 0.5 mile east of the Coppock Road.
Iowa Bridge and Culvert of Washington was awarded the project Monday with a low bid of $110,033.15. The short section of roadway is expected to be closed for three to four weeks while the work is completed. This work will address failing culverts and improve drainage in the area.
