I would like to thank The Fairfield Ledger for printing the information concerning the Jefferson County 4-H Foundation Scholarship that was presented from the Leland Stanley Scholarship fund.
The foundation is separate from the extension service and the fair board.
The Jefferson County 4-H Foundation was organizer in 1996 as a nonprofit corporation. The corporation has tax-exempt status from the IRS and is able to receive tax-deductible gifts and bequests.
The purpose of the Jefferson County 4-H Foundation, as stated in its articles, is to support, and help in the promotion of 4-H in Jefferson County, Iowa.
4-H has been a vital part of the Jefferson County Community for years. It has been a very positive experience for many people.
The Foundation encourages people who have benefited from 4-H to consider making gifts or bequests in their estate to the foundation.
