MT. PLEASANT - Kevin Schrader has won the race for District 2 seat on the Mt. Pleasant Community School Board.
Though not as slim as the 50.3% majority of District 1’s winner Craig Hurd, Schrader still won a very close race. Of 1,654 votes tallied, Schrader received 850, compared to opponent Derek Mullin’s 798, and 6 miscellaneous write-in ballots. That comes to a 51.39% margin in favor of Schrader.
Upon his victory, Schrader offered thanks to all who supported him:
“Thank you very much for your vote and confidence in me for the school board, for all your kind words and prayers. It means more than I could put in words. We will now begin the job of listening to the people and letting their voices be heard. Carrying out your plans for the school district. Growing each student, fulfilling the role in life they were created for. Helping the staff of our school system, to bring out the best in each member of our community. Each and everyone is a productive and vital part of our hometown family. Once again, thank you for your support, and remember, your agenda is my agenda, period.”
