Absentee ballots available in Washington Oct. 18

WASHINGTON — Absentee ballots for the Nov. 7, 2023 regular city/school elections to be held in Washington County will become available on Oct. 18 in the Washington County Auditor’s Office. Therefore, any voters wishing to have a ballot mailed to them should fill out and submit a written request form right away.
The ballot request form can be obtained from the Washington County Auditor’s Office or the county website, or through sos.iowa.gov. If requesting a ballot by mail, the signed request may be delivered or mailed to the Washington County Auditor, Box 889, Washington, IA 52353, up to 70 days prior to an election and must be received in the Auditor’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23.
Absentee voting may also be done in-person at the Auditor’s Office in the Washington County Courthouse beginning Oct. 18 and continuing during normal business hours until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. Auditor’s Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 and Friday, Nov. 3.
