Acappella to perform in Wayland

The Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church of rural Wayland will be hosting a musical evening on Aug. 14, beginning at 7 p.m. featuring the group Acappella.The pastor and congregation have extended a special invitation to the  greater community for this special musical evening.

The concert is free. However, there will be a free-will offering to help Acappella with their travel expenses and aid them in their music ministry throughout the greater community.

There will also be light refreshments served following the concert in the church?s fellowship center.

Formed in 1999, Acappella is a group of 14 women who sing a unique brand of four-part harmony, unaccompanied. The group is based in Mt. Pleasant and is dedicated to local entertainment.

The group is known for its pleasing, close harmony and eclectic musical mix including sacred, gospel, country, popular, jazz and Broadway selections.

Acappella performs for churches, care facilities, variety shows, service clubs and organizations, private and business parties and reunions. They also perform annually at the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Reunion.
