Accident near West Chester

An accident between a pickup truck and a motorcycle occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. Saturday on Highway 92 a few miles east of West Chester. The Iowa State Patrol reported the male driver of the motorcycle and his female passenger died in the collision. Their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the pickup was Randall J. Graber of Washington. He and passenger Jerri L. Graber, of Washington, were transported to the University of Iowa Hospital.

According to the Iowa State Patrol's accident report, the pickup was eastbound on Highway 92 when it crossed the centerline and collided with the motorcycle head-on, which was traveling in the westbound lane. The occupants of the motorcycle were thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the north ditch. Both occupants appeared to be wearing helmets.

Highway 92 was blocked to traffic early Saturday even while the Iowa State Patrol investigated the collision.
