Accident on E. Washington Street caused by icy roads

An accident was reported on East Washington Street in front of Aldi's after a car skidded on ice, hitting the car in front of it on Wednesday, Jan. 23, around 10 a.m.

Daniel Pollock, of Michigan, was driving a silver 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer west in the outside lane of East Washington Street. Pollock slowed for a car making a turn in front of him and was rear-ended by Brandon Erickson, of Burlington, who was driving a gray 2009 Nissan Altima.

Erickson told officers with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department that he attempted to slow and brake, but the roadway was covered with snow and ice. Erickson was found to be at fault. There were no injuries.

Damage to the Chevrolet was $300. Damage to the Nissan was $2,000.
