Henry County Sheriff?s deputies investigated a pair of accidents on Jan. 14, one of which resulted in charges being filed.
Kaity Grace Bench, 27, of New London, was charged with operating while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, and cited for an open container following an accident in the 2600 grid of Highway 218.
Responding to a report of an accident, deputies located Bench?s vehicle stopped on the roadway with recent damage to the vehicle.
There were no reported injuries.
A single-vehicle accident also was reported three miles east of Wayland on Highway 78.
Ronald Scarff, of Wayland, reported losing control of his pickup on the frost-covered road causing it to roll when it entered the ditch. Scarff was not injured in the accident.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
