Ag extension, hospital, twp. trustee nominations due soon

WASHINGTON — The Washington County Auditor’s Office is now accepting nomination papers for non-party offices which will appear on the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election ballot. The deadline for filing is Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. Terms of county hospital board, agricultural extension council, and soil conservation commission will be filled at the election, as well as Brighton Township Clerk/Trustee and Clay Township Clerk/Trustee.
A term of service is four years for the hospital board, extension council and soil commission. Township office terms are also four years each.
Individuals interested in running as independents for the offices of County Auditor, County Sheriff, County Attorney — to fill vacancy and County Supervisor (Districts #1, District #2 and #4) also have until Aug. 28 to file nomination papers with the County Auditor’s Office.
Nomination papers are available at the County Auditor’s Office. The filing period begins Aug. 5, 2024. For more information and to find out the number of signatures needed, contact the Washington County Auditor’s Office (319) 653-7717.
