Agency man arrested after shooting wife to death
At 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Seth Andrew Techel, 21, of Agency, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy in connection with the murder of his wife, Lisa Marie Techel.

At 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Seth Andrew Techel, 21, of Agency, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy in connection with the murder of his wife, Lisa Marie Techel.
According to a press release from the Wapello County Sheriff?s Office, Techel will be arraigned on the charges and transferred to a neighboring county?s correctional facility. First-degree murder is a Class A felony with a maximum penalty of life in prison. Nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy is a Class B felony and carries a penalty of 25 years in prison.
At about 5:23 a.m. Saturday, the office received a 911 report of an individual that had ?possibly been shot.? The incident happened in the 8700 block of Fox Hill Road southwest of Agency. The victim was identified as Lisa Techel, 23, of Agency.
The release said that she is the daughter of a Wapello County deputy and was employed at the Washington County Jail. She was also a reserve deputy with the Wapello County Sheriff?s Office.
The release said that an autopsy was conducted at the Iowa State Medical Examiner?s Office in Ankeny.
Cooperating in the criminal investigation were the Wapello County Sheriff?s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the State of Iowa Medical Examiner?s Office.
