The Jefferson County Enterprise Zone Commission approved a resolution Tuesday supporting Agri-Industrial Plastics? Enterprise Zone application.
Brent Willett, executive director of the Fairfield Economic Development Association, explained Agri-Industrial Plastics is located inside Fairfield Enterprise Zone 6, which means it is eligible to receive funding from the Iowa Department of Economic Development for certain projects.
According to Willett, Agri-Industrial Plastics? request is for funding a machinery and equipment project. The project would add two machines totaling $8 million and create 16 new jobs.
?The commission approved the resolution and its now in the hands of the state,? said Willett.
