AINSWORTH — The roughly 500-resident city of Ainsworth is under a boil order as of Friday morning, according to a county emergency alert and the city’s voicemail.
“We performed some well repairs yesterday, and as a precaution today, we are advising town residents to boil their water for one minute, and let it cool before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation,” the city hall voicemail said Friday morning. “Or, use bottled water until further notice.”
A news release from the city said the repairs came after a problem in the distribution system caused a pressure loss on Sept. 22. The announcement said municipal officials would send notifications once they received results the all-clear from bacterial tests.
Saturday morning, a representative from the city said the order was still in place, after Bac-T testing came back positive. As of 11 a.m. Sunday, no further updates have been sent.
