Alien structure
The loud hissing noise heard uptown Monday came from this structure that looks like it could be part of an incomplete rocket to outer space. Investigation proved it to be nothing so alien to Fairfield, but is instead the shroud-covered water tower at B and Washington streets. The loud hissing noise heard uptown Monday came from this structure that looks like it could be part of an incomplete rocket to outer space. Investigation proved it to be nothing so alien to Fairfield, but is instead the shroud-covered water tower at B and Washington streets. The hissing noise is presumably from the paint-removal equipment at work beneath the protective cover. Carl Chandler explained the tower has been drained of water. He said as much as possible was used, then the rest was drained. It is closed off from the sytem so it wouldn?t refill.
