Allison to be honored at banquet
DES MOINES ? Libertyville?s Jerry Allison along with 157 other Iowa officials are scheduled to receive awards at the Iowa High School Athletic Association?s 18th annual Officials? Banquet and Recognition Ceremony.
Allison will be honored for 25 years officiating at the ceremony, which is set to take place Saturday at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines.

DES MOINES ? Libertyville?s Jerry Allison along with 157 other Iowa officials are scheduled to receive awards at the Iowa High School Athletic Association?s 18th annual Officials? Banquet and Recognition Ceremony.
Allison will be honored for 25 years officiating at the ceremony, which is set to take place Saturday at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines.
Thirty-two individuals will be honored for 35 years of service; 41 others for 25 years and 60 for officiating 15 years. In addition, awards will be given to four district aspiring new officials of the year and 13 others will receive plaques as the National Federation of Officials' state award winner as official of the year in a particular sport.
Also, being honored during the ceremonies is Craig Snider of Osage as the NFOA?s Distinguished National Contributor. Snider has been registered more than 40 years with the IHSAA and IGHSAU concentrating on football, boys? and girls? basketball and softball. He is still an active official in football and softball.
This year?s featured speaker is Jeff Rutter, Director of Basketball Operations for Iowa State?s men?s program. This winter he will begin his seventh season in the Iowa State program and his third as director of operations. In his first six years at Iowa State, Rutter has helped mentor 10 All-Big 12 performers.
