After two of its ambulances were delayed transporting patients to the hospital, Washington County Ambulance asked drivers to stay off the roads during winter storms.
'Travel is not advised, means, Travel Is Not Advised. This is not an ‘I'm special and can drive' moment,” the Washington County Ambulance service posted on Facebook.
During the winter weather Thursday, the post asked people to stay off the roads.
At 1:10 p.m., the post said there were two ambulances waiting with patients due to a complete road blockage at Highway 218 near Hills.
The post garnered 965 shares and 77 comments.
While some people agreed with the post, other felt it was inconsiderate.
'I understand the message, but when you insinuate that those on the road are only there because they think they are special, it makes your argument seem insulting rather than important,” wrote Brian Dean.
