Friends may call after 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., that evening. A private family burial will be held at the Charleston Cemetery at a later date.

Amy Alissa VanPelt, 43, of Orlando, Fla., died on July 8, 2016.
Friends may call after 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., that evening. A private family burial will be held at the Charleston Cemetery at a later date.

VanPelt was born on July 20, 1972, in Ft. Madison. She had her masters degree and served as a captain in the United States Air Force.
She was employed by JLR Anesthesia Group and worked as a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Florida Hospital, in Orlando, Fla.
She was a member of St. James Cathedral, in Orlando.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
VanPelt is survived by her mother, Susan Penrod Fields, of Orlando, Fla.; and her grandmother, Norma Heins, of Donnellson.
